Support Wisconsin Humanities
Support Wisconsin Humanities
Your gift builds connections across Wisconsin.
For more than 50 years, Wisconsin Humanities has partnered with communities statewide to support thousands of projects that strengthen belonging, civic life, and cultural understanding.
From small-town historical societies to libraries and schools, local cultural organizations, and community leaders with ideas ready to grow, we provide the tools, resources, training, and platforms to bring projects, stories, and community connection to life in every corner of the state.
This means your gift doesn’t stay in one place. It reaches communities across Wisconsin, from the smallest towns to the largest cities.
Your gift helps people across the state:
- Celebrate local culture and traditions
- Create and share their stories
- Host public events that bring people together
- Train local leaders to sustain this work
- Build stronger, healthier, more connected communities
Why Your Support Matters Now
For more than 50 years, Wisconsin Humanities has brought people together to explore the stories, ideas, histories, and traditions that shape our state. These experiences help communities understand one another, strengthen local connections, and imagine a better future together.
As federal funding for the humanities becomes less reliable, support from individuals is increasingly essential. Your gift helps ensure that people in communities across Wisconsin—large and small, rural and urban—continue to have access to meaningful humanities programs.
Make a gift today and help sustain this work for the next generation.

Give Stock, Mutual Funds, or ETFs
A gift of appreciated securities can be a tax smart way to support Wisconsin Humanities. Gifts of publicly traded stock, mutual funds, or ETFs may be made through the Universities Wisconsin Trust Funds for the benefit of Wisconsin Humanities. Wisconsin Humanities is an independent 501(c)3 that, thanks to an agreement with Universities of Wisconsin, is able to use its Trust Funds to hold and help us manage all gifts.
To begin the process, please complete the Universities of Wisconsin Trust Funds appreciated securities form. After the form is submitted, transfer instructions will be sent to the donor and, when applicable, the donor’s broker or financial advisor.
Please also let Wisconsin Humanities know when you initiate a securities gift so we can ensure your gift is properly directed and acknowledged. The Universities of Wisconsin Office of Trust Funds will provide the charitable gift receipt for gifts processed through them. Donors should consult their financial, legal, or tax advisor to understand the potential tax benefits of giving appreciated securities.
Employer Matching Gifts
You may be able to increase your impact through an employer matching gift program. Many companies match charitable contributions made by employees, and some also match gifts made by retirees or family members. Check with your employer’s human resources department to see whether your gift qualifies. If your employer participates, follow their instructions to submit your gift for a match. If you need assistance confirming the correct designation for Wisconsin Humanities, please contact us.
