Your gift matters

For our next generation of young leaders, experiences with the humanities can make a profound difference.

Emelia is a former student at Platteville High School, where she founded the Diverse Student Alliance (DSA) to foster inclusivity and understanding. Her dedication to turning exclusion and hurt into opportunities for connection and growth has inspired many. Today, Emelia is a freshman at UW-Stevens Point, and the DSA continues to thrive, including 20% of the student body at Platteville High School.

Emelia’s story and other like it inspired us to launch our Stand Up to Hate initiative this year. We saw an urgent need to equip students, educators, and communities with new tools and resources to challenge bias and discrimination — tools and resources built just for Wisconsin. This fall, the Diverse Student Alliance had us bring it to them in Platteville.

Please consider contributing to the future of the public humanities in Wisconsin by making a gift to the Wisconsin Humanities Annual Fund today.

Your support will help us bring the Stand Up to Hate program to even more schools and communities, empowering more individuals to become forces for change. You will help us continue the work on our nationally award-winning Communities Powered initiative and share even more stories of hope and resilience through our Love Wisconsin project.

Ensure that the humanities remain an integral part of Wisconsin life for years to come.

You can also contribute to  Wisconsin Humanities by making a gift to WH’s Future Fund Endowment.

When you click on the DONATE button below, you will be taken to the UW Foundation, where our endowment is managed. Your full contribution will be received by Wisconsin Humanities and will help us continue creating programs that address the urgent needs of future generations.

DONOR HIGHLIGHT:

Making More
Possible

A graduate of UW-Madison, Jonathan now lives with his family near Lake Michigan and is happy his monthly gift helps to sustain WH's work around the state.

“One of the biggest contributors to my family’s success and happiness is that of connectedness and community. In getting to know the myriad Wisconsinites through the crucial work of Wisconsin Humanities, I feel a greater sense of togetherness with my fellow citizens. The work of Wisconsin Humanities has deepened my love and appreciation for my adopted state, and it gives me joy to learn about all the ways that people live their lives. I’m always enriched by reading, listening to, and watching the work of Wisconsin Humanities!”
