Celebrating Wisconsin:
Fostering Compassion, Respect, & Understanding
Pass a Love Wisconsin story on to a friend or neighbor!
Love Wisconsin is a unique space in the digital world. Over 100,000 followers are part of an online community that engages with respect, curiosity, and empathy.
More than 150 people have shared their personal stories and offer a window into experiences often quite different from our own. Their stories remind us that people in Wisconsin care about each other, that civic engagement feels good, and that our healthy democracy depends on community members like you and me.
Love Wisconsin stories introduce us to people like Marcy Huffaker, who worked to rebuild her rural community after an upsetting photo circulated of local high schoolers making a “Nazi Salute.”
➞ And CaBeatrice Hart, an urban farmer from Milwaukee who leads exchanges with other farms to bridge the growing urban-rural divide.
➞ And Curtis Wayka, a firefighter from the Menominee Nation who works across agencies to manage controlled burns and mitigate the risk of wildfires in Wisconsin's Northwoods.
➞ And Masood Akhtar, who started an Anti-Hate Registry for people standing up against hateful speech and actions.
➞ And Ron Smith, a local journalist committed to the urgent local concerns of his community.
➞ And Ann Vang, who works with Hmong restaurants and area farmers to provide Hmong meals for elders.
➞ And many more!
