New Director of Grants & Outreach

We are excited to welcome Meghan Dudle to the WH team!

Meghan is Wisconsin Humanities' Director of Grants and Outreach, and she's excited to get to know you!

Meghan DudleHi, My name is Meghan! It’s been an exciting couple of weeks in my new role as Director of Grants and Outreach!

When I was working previously at Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts in Mineral Point, and before that at Folklore Village in Dodgeville, I was familiar with Wisconsin Humanities' grants as someone responsible for planning and managing programs. Now, I am really looking forward to hearing your project ideas and talking about our funding opportunities. I also look forward to getting out to meet you in person. I love Wisconsin and am honored to have the chance to work with you and all the dynamic leaders and agents of change in the state.

I’ll also be providing outreach for all of Wisconsin Humanities' programs. I aim to build responsive relationships with new grantees, especially organizations working with new-to-us and underserved communities. I’m honored to learn from not only my impressive co-workers, but from the knowledge that our board brings to the grant program.

Here in Wisconsin, I’ve directed traditional (and non-traditional) arts, folk, and culture programming, amplified BIPOC and tradition bearer voices within programming, and taught rural, elementary school children the concept of tradition and the value of sharing traditions. My degree from Macalester College was focused on labor and African American histories. My master's degree explored the Black Banjo and Black string band tradition and the journey to not only deconstruct white myths surrounding the banjo by The North Carolina Chocolate Drops, but to also celebrate their relationship with elder Joe Thompson. I live with my family in Mineral Point and enjoy playing fiddle for raucous square dances, writing songs with my partner, and finding adventures of all kinds. I can’t wait to meet you at a WI Humanities-funded public program, hear what you are working on, and get to know you.

You can reach me by email anytime! --Meghan Dudle
