Please join us in welcoming Evelyn!
Hello! My name is Evelyn Slawski and I recently started as a grant program researcher at Wisconsin Humanities.
I am currently a master’s student at the iSchool at UW-Madison and am specializing in data management. I hope to learn more about data analysis and research through this placement. I’m also very excited to be working with a nonprofit organization that is helping to make a difference in my community!
This past summer, I was a student evaluator for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension division where I gained skills in community engagement and assessment. I helped create an equity assessment tool for Extension employees to refer to while evaluating their programs’ performances. This work inspired me to continue my career path with organizations that make a genuine impact in local areas with the intent to assist those in need.
During my time with Wisconsin Humanities, I will be creating a report on best evaluation practices for grant proposal programs. I will also be involved in some data analysis and reporting in relation to the matter of diversity, equity, and inclusion - areas crucial to organizations looking to make a long-term impact in this line of work. I believe data is the most important tool I can use to make a difference in marginalized communities. Through analysis and evaluation, I am able to help institutions make better decisions, better contributions, and better change. I am excited to jump right into this work and help Wisconsin Humanities become more efficient and effective in communities around the state.
Let's build a stronger, more connected Wisconsin together.
