The WHC will accept no new Speakers Bureau bookings as of August 1, 2008. We will honor all bookings that have already been confirmed.
About the Speakers Bureau
Since 1991, the WHC Speakers Bureau has offered educational and entertaining humanities presentations in communities throughout Wisconsin, bringing discussions about poetry, world religions, archaeology, folklore, history, and much more to every corner of the state.
The WHC website will continue to serve as a resource where you can come to find humanities presenters on a variety of topics. Starting in 2009, the WHC will no longer be involved in the booking process, nor will the WHC pay the speakers. As of January, your organization should contact speakers directly to discuss program plans and make contractual agreements. You will not pay a booking fee to the WHC, or fill out paperwork for the WHC, and there is no limit on the number of speakers you can book.
When we make these changes in January, there will be many familiar faces, as well as some new ones. We hope this gives presenters and community hosts more control over the design of each humanities program to serve the unique needs of the location and audience.
